The No-no in Potty Training

by admin on May 12th, 2011

A friend of mine complained about how she had to struggle with her little one during the potty training session. She said that every time she wanted to put her son on the potty chair, he would start running away or getting mad at her. I guess this is what some of you also experience when you try to potty train your kids. Usually kids will behave negatively to something that they do not like or are not comfortable with. Now, here are some mistakes that parents may do that makes their children become reluctant to potty training:

- begin to potty train their child when he is not ready for it

- start doing it when their child is experiencing a big change in his life

- put too much pressure on him

- set some kind of target of when the child should be able to use the toilet properly

- give negative reaction when there is a setback during the process

All of these can make your child associate potty training as a no-fun or even terrifying activity. You should be more relaxed and aware of your child’s condition when you are trying to potty-train him. Enjoying the process is the key to make it works.
